Who qualifies for program 8 funding?
There is a list of facilities which qualifies for program 8 funding. As a rule of thumb the following conditions should apply for a facility to qualify :
Furthermore, the facility should belong to the Department of Health. Leased buildings or buildings belonging to PWD general buildings do not qualify. (This includes most district offices). If you feel that your facility should be included for program 8 but currently has no maintenance contracts in-place, please contact us. What if my facility does not qualify?
If your facility does not qualify for Program 8 - Preventative maintenance funding, you may contact Stephan Reichert to apply for Program 8 - Day to Day Professional funding. This funding is allocated on a yearly basis so during the planning phase (November) it should be added as a priority for your district.
If your facility has funding available to complete the work required but lack the technical/contractual skills to write the contract document, please contact us as we may be able to assist with standard contract documents, specifications or technical advise. Who should be contacted for information?
The head of the workshop at the nearest regional referral hospital should be able to provide more information about the maintenance contracts in the district. For metro regions, please refer to engineering or your district office. For day to day projects (Programme 8) contact Lucille Welgemoed.
