Smart Metering

Smart metering is currently being installed in phases at various facilities across the Western Cape. The goal is to monitor and evaluate the resource consumption at each facilities to identify wasteful practices and investigate high resource usage.
Engineering also maintains a database of manually captured municipal accounts which covers most hospitals. When the smart metering program is fully operational, the municipal accounts will be compared to the smart meters to identify faulty council meters installed at WCDOH facilities.
