How to Bid

All contracts that are administrated by engineering is put out on IPS for competitive bidding or utilizing the PWD Framework agreements. On IPS contractors will receive a invitation to bid via e-mail and must accept the invitation (RFI) to enable them to bid.

All contracts, unless specifically stated otherwise, require the contractor to attend a site meeting where the contract is handed out and explained to contractors.

All bids which are estimated to be more than R200 000.00 are also advertised on the CIDB database while below R200 000.00 a cidb registration is required.

Bids must be submitted before the closing date and time and this should be done online via the IPS portal.

Fully completed bid documents and supporting documents should be forwarded to the project manager after the closing date of the bid and no longer than 5 working days later.

What you need to bid

Valid WCSD (Western Cape Suppliers Database) registration or
National suppliers database registration
IPS Registration
CIDB grading (where specified in the advertisement)
Valid Tax Clearance Certificate
Registration documents where applicable (SAQCC, SANS, Trade License ect)
BBBEE Certificate
All other documents as per the contract specification.
